Care guide

HOW TO HAND WASH YOUR HANDMADE CLOTHES

All our clothes are handmade with love in our familiar atelier, and so they need to be washed and handled with care. Hand washing is the gentlest way to wash your clothing items, meaning you will increase their longevity by preserving the fibres and textile detailing.

The best way to hand wash your clothes is to follow these basic steps:

Step 1: Fill a sink or tub with cool-warm water. Avoid washing in hot water as this can lead to shrinkage of your clothes.

Step 2: Add in 1 teaspoon of delicate laundry detergent or soap and mix to prepare the bath. Submerge your clothes, gently moving them about to soak up the soapy water and leave for up to 30 minutes.

Step 3: Use cold water to thoroughly rinse your clothes until all the soap has gone. Carefully press your garments against the sink to get rid of excess water. Never wring or twist!

Step 4: Lay your garments out flat in their original shape on top of a towel, then roll up the towel to remove as much water as possible. Unroll and leave to dry.

* Treat fabric stains before hand washing. Gently rub your chosen solution (just natural or delicate soap) on the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes (no longer than 5 minutes). You can either proceed to hand washing now or continue treating if your stain is really bad.
